Exclusive! Saswata Chatterjee returns as a cop in Joydeep Mukherjee’s web series
Saswata Chatterjee, who played the character of a super cop in Raj Chakraborty’s Abar Proloy and Arindam Sil’s Shabor Franchise, will be back as a cop in Joydeep Mukherjee’s web series.

Saswata Chatterjee collaborated with Joydeep Mukherjee recently in the latter’s hoichoi web series, Advocate Achinta Aich. The shooting of the show is over and the post-production work is in full swing. According to sources, the duo will pair up again. This time they will be working on Fridaay’s web series – Camellia Productions’ upcoming OTT platform.

Saswatha Chatterjee as SDPO character
According to sources close to the team, the stories of the yet-untitled show are based on real-life crimes that took place in a small town in Bengal. Events are inspired by police cases. Sameer Sengupta worked on the screenplay. Saswata is considered as SDPO (Sub Divisional Police Officer) of Bengal Territory. Billed as a thriller, it also depicts human stories. If all goes well, the show will go on in May or June. Saswata plays the lead character in the upcoming Hindi film The Crewm, which also stars Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon. “He has some commitments in Hindi and other industries. Once he takes care of them, the shooting schedule will be finalised,” sources said.

Recently, Saswatha Chatterjee made a stunning comeback as a cop in Raj Chakraborty’s debut web series, Abar Proloy. His character and performance were well received by both the audience and the critics. Additionally, in Arindam Seeley’s Shabor franchise, he plays Kolkata Police Constable Shabor Dasgupta.

Joydeep Mukherjee was gearing up for The Eken
Joydeep, on the other hand, has no time for a break. Soon, lawyer Achinta Aichi will start working on this project and his upcoming film Eken Babu. OTT play reported that this time Eken Babu film will be shot abroad in Russia. On the other hand, the film will miss Poila Boyzakh during its traditional release. If all goes well, Eken’s team will travel to Russia by June.

The OTT platform will be canceled on Fridaay this year. However, no announcement has been made on its release time. A number of serials, including Arindal Seeley’s Unishey April, based on the mysterious death of Surupa Guha, are lined up.
