In today’s world, many filmmakers have created intriguing OTT web series covering the rise of crime in Bihar. Almost many of them were well received by the audience and critics. They appreciated the actors, director and many other aspects of this web series. This space displays a list of OTT dramas based on Bihar.

1. Maharani (May 28, 2021)

Maharani is one of the most successful web series based on Bihar politics. Subhash Kapoor produced this serial starring Huma Qureshi, Sohum Shah and others. Its third season will be aired soon on SONY LIV. Season 1 can also be watched on Zee 5. It seems to be inspired by what happened in Bihar in the 90s when Lalu Prasad Yadav made his housewife wife Rabri Devi his successor.

2. Khakee: The Bihar Chapter (November 25, 2022)

Khaki: The Bihar chapter is based on the book Bihar Diaries written by IPS officer Amit Lodha. Neeraj Pandey created and wrote this series on Netflix. Karan Thackeray, Avinash Tiwari and others played lead roles in this OTT drama.

3. Grehan (June 24, 2021)

The Grahan series is based on the book Chaurasi written by author Chaurasi. Shailendra Jha produced this series starring Zoya Hussain, Wamika Gabi, Pawan Malhotra and others. This series airs on Disney Plus Hotstar. This series depicts the 1984 Sikh riots in Bokaro, Jharkhand. Earlier Jharkhand was a part of Bihar.

4. Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega (January 10, 2020)

Soumendra Padhi’s Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega revolves around criminals who specialize in phishing. Amit Syal, Sparsh Srivastav, Monika Panwar and others played lead roles in this serial. Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega is streaming on Netflix. There were two seasons of this series.

5. Mirzapur (November 16, 2018)

This is another interesting drama based on the rivalry between two families in Mirzapur, eastern Uttar Pradesh. Though based in UP, the two seasons of this serial also reflect the politics of Bihar. Puneet Krishna and Karan Anshuman have produced this serial starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Diviendu. It airs on Amazon Prime.

6. Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti (June 29, 2022)

Navdeep Singh produced Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti based on the life of dreaded don Mohammad Shahabuddin. Vijay Maurya, Vineeth Kumar Singh, Prashant Narayanan and others played lead roles in this serial. Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti airs on Zee 5.
