Cubicles Season 3 Review: So many motivational corporate lessons embedded in a simple way
The viral fever show returns with Abhishek Chauhan as the central character who works in an IT company when he takes a step forward in his career.
About the Cubes, Season 3
He returned to corporate affairs Cubes season 3. Viral Fever is set in an IT company where teammates become friends. However, Piyush Prajapathi has moved up the corporate ladder this season. So how will this affect his relationship with his colleagues who are now his subordinates? The new season will premiere on SonyLIV from January 5.
Cubicles Season 3: Narrative
Abhishek Chauhan’s character Piyush Prajapati takes the lesson ‘New Year, New You’ to heart as he embarks on his big, new assignment as a team leader. However, he soon learns that mixing friendship and work can be difficult. Piyush is now part of management and the youngster must balance logic and emotion in his new leadership position.
Moreover, the dynamics at his workplace have changed. With the equations changed with his teammates, Piyush begins to act sloppy, often making things difficult. The new season has more challenges and lessons for the coder turned team leader to master.
Cubicles Season 3: Writing and Directing
but cubes Nothing like the ultimate workplace show, Office, it captures the essence of Indian workplaces with charming little moments like the team having dinner together or the friendly banter that goes around between work buddies. Director Divyanshu Malhotra sets up these scenarios well, especially in the last episode of the season.
The current season takes some time because the first half of the season is too much about the IT details of the project the team is working on. Moreover, it also feels like the show is going a bit overboard in trying to sell the corporate dream in order to be more relatable to viewers who may be having the same experience.
Cubicles Season 3: Performances
Chauhan as Piyush is once again the heart of the show as he doubts his own abilities as a team leader with less experience. The actor perfectly portrays Piyush’s new dilemma. Other actors who are part of Piyush’s working world including Nimit Kapoor, Badri Chavan, Niketan Sharma and Ayush Gupta are also reliable.
Arnav Bhasini’s Kalpe is welcome, while a new team member Neha (Ketaki Kulkarni) is added to the mix. Also worth noting is Khushbu Baid as the HR Executive Supriya.
Cubicles Season 3: Criticism
The main problem with this season is that Piyush’s lectures on corporate life lessons are too much like motivational posters. In the first half, it becomes more about these “lessons” that are repeated. Piyush does something, fails, picks himself up and tries again. Rinse and repeat.
The final two episodes of Season 3 are where the real character growth lies in Cubicles Season 3, and it redeems the show when we get down to business. Piyush’s loyalty and friendliness are great qualities, but they can get lost in the corporate world. Piyush has had quite a journey in these three seasons cubes A fresh face from first timer to team leader, it would be interesting to see where he goes next.
