Fallout hits Prime Video a day early, and netizens can’t wait to ‘pop in’ | web series

The gaming community can’t keep calm as Amazon Prime Video has released a live-action series from Bethesda Softworks’ iconic “Fallout” franchise. X and Reddit are overflowing with #FalloutOnPrime love.

The series debuted on April 10, a nostalgic nod to the beloved video game that has captivated gamers since its inception in 1997.

Fans of the series have spent countless hours researching the game’s post-nuclear war setting, many of them presumably protesting the release of the game’s signature Nuka-Cola.

Set in a world ravaged by nuclear war, Fallout plunges viewers into the chaos of October 23, 2077, when World War III erupts with a barrage of atomic bombs that devastate the United States. A cataclysmic event sends survivors underground into specially created vaults or leaves them in the treacherous desert.

The Prime Video adaptation, created by the creative hands behind ‘Interstellar’ and ‘Westworld’ Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, promises an eight-episode journey full of the franchise’s signature elements. Fans can expect to see the familiar sights of Pip-Boys, Vault-Tec shelters, and many mutated creatures, all set two centuries after the Great War. The cast includes Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Moises Arias, Johnny Pemberton and Kyle McLachlan, who will bring this dystopian world to life.
