Love Storiyaan producer gives premier video series budget updates
Amazon Prime Video’s latest documentary series, I love the story, was already popular in the city for its interesting portrayal of six real-life love stories. However, this is not the only outstanding feature. Producer Somen Mishra recently announced that the series has been made in less than one budget of Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani.
Prime Video’s Love Storiyaan has a lower budget than Karan Johar’s Dharma production
Delving into the hearts of people who have faced taboos and challenges, Love Storiyaan shines a light on diverse real-life love stories. Each episode depicts a unique love story, including a couple dealing with the aftermath of war in a foreign land. Under the banner of Dharmatik, Dharma’s digital wing, the series breaks new ground in storytelling.
Behind the scenes, Somen Mishra, the creative producer of Love Storiyaan, shared an insight into the making of this documentary. He revealed an interesting anecdote about Karan Johar’s reaction to the budget required for the anthology.
He revealed, “Karan (Johar) was already shocked by the budget when he told him what we were getting from Amazon. Karan asked, “Is this budget mein filmein banti hain? (Are movies made with this budget?)’ I said of course. As I recall, I told someone that the combined budget of all our six films is less than the budget of one song of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani.
Moreover, Mishra highlighted the vision behind Love Storiyaan and how it aligns with the vision of Dharma 2.0. In addition, he shared how the series came about.
He revealed, “The idea of Love Storiyaan, the Indian Love Project page is such a wonderful page, we wake up every day and read these stories. Many of these stories were about people we knew but didn’t know their stories. The idea was how to present these people who are real and fought against all odds. So we pitched it as a docu-series and Amazon jumped on it because they didn’t have anything like that listed. “
Love Storiyaan is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
