Netflix Flixxo CNTV Petit Gabriela Tagliavini
Featuring female screenwriters funded by Netflix, Latin America’s largest feature series commissioner, Ventana Sur this year added a big distribution from Chile’s Consejo National de Televisión television agency, which may be a reaction to global platforms pulling out of Chile.
In terms of original titles, good word for Colombia’s Laura Otalora (“Impermanence”) and Argentina’s Carlos Lascano (“Lina”). The talent lineup varies, from the many near neophytes who landed at Tuesday’s Flixxo session, to the names of CNTV’s distribution producers, Gabriela Sandoval on “Box 205” and Leonera Gonzalez on “Dangerous Love.” The CNTV showcase also features the animated hit “Petit.”

In this project, a jaundiced divorce lawyer with a grudge takes a job at the Divorce Hotel, touting 48-hour, stress-free annulments and offering a little encouragement when couples need to tie the knot. “Ivory Tower” (Torre de Marfil, Vanessa Tomasino, El Salvador)
Political action drama with Isadora Lopez-Rodriguez, a second-generation Salvadoran American, hired by a US government unit to investigate a series of murders in a homeland she has never visited. The mission, however, is set. Creator Tomasino had a guest appearance on Netflix’s “Virgin River.”
“numana” (Soledad Velasco, Jessica Uran, Argentina)
Created by Argentinian writers Arán (“Pájaros Negros”) and Velasco (Disney+’s “Dreaming High”) and backed by Chile’s Clara Films and Barcelona-based VFX studio Unbound Hub, the dystopian drama at Conecta Fiction About two custom-made babies, now. The teenagers rebel against the Numana company that produced them.

A journey through Latin America that explores women’s periods and how they perceive femininity, according to the synopsis. From Laura Otálora, Director of The Chef’s Diaries: Scotland and Distil Your World on Prime Video and Filmin, and Content Director of Apichatpong Weerasethakul Lab.
“Murder Between Gunshots” (“Asesinato Entre Cámaras”, Ana Grajales, Mexico)
From Grajales, co-writer of the Wattpad webtoon “Perfectos Mentirosos” and two episodes of Netflix’s “Cindy La Regia: The High School Years,” a TV comedy thriller about a reality show contestant being murdered and Lina, a bodyguard. They blame Emo’s make-up artist.

Drama-comedy “Money Heist” starring Iciar Itunio tells the tale of a family that stumbles upon a fortune, a $200 million fortune. “We don’t have a plan,” the character says in the trailer. This unexpected treasure sets them up for maddening challenges. Written and directed by Marcos Moreno, known for his doc Assault to Freedom, and produced by Chilean TV+ executive Juan Diego Garreton.

Set in the romantic yet turbulent era of the 1950s, ‘Dangerous Love’ explores Alba and Zahira’s forbidden love affair. As their passion develops, they find themselves entangled in a web of secrets and danger, given Zahira’s drug-dealing family background. Currently in development, this series is written by Leonora Gonzalez, whose extensive work in serial production (“Allende: 1000 Days”) should stand up well.
