I was a one-hit wonder in the 1990s.
The members of the Fast Food Rockers, known for their innovative hits from the 1990s, are back in the spotlight.
The trio, made up of Lucy Meggitt, Leah Scott and Martin Rycroft, previously outsold Elton John and Justin Timberlake, but have largely remained out of the public eye since their hit 15 years ago. There wasn’t.
Now, vocalist Martin is pursuing an equally fascinating career.
The former singer is now in the spotlight with her new role, as detailed on her Instagram profile.
He recently starred in the 2021 Bollywood film Time to Dance and has also competed on Dancing with the Stars Middle East as a professional dancer.
Martin starred as William Cottenham in Time to Dance, the story of an injured ballroom dancer who struggles to succeed while hoping his new teammates don’t lose his heart.
In January, 40-year-old Martin dusted off his dancing shoes again in support of a Blackpool-based mental health charity.
Explaining her work to her Instagram followers, she wrote: “Hello everyone, I’m really excited to announce that I’ll be dancing with Anne Jackson at the Emperor’s Ballroom in the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.
“We will be raising money for Tia’s Crown, a charity set up to support physical and mental health through dance.”
Back in July, Martin and his Fast Food Rockers bandmates were seen in a sweet reunion photo shared to social media.
The selfie excited fans, with one person exclaiming: “Simply love this! Awesome!” Some people say, “This makes me really happy!!”
Martin posed alongside Lucy and Leah and captioned the post: “It was fun catching up with these two.”
The Fast Food Rockers rose to fame in 2003 with the release of “Fast Food Song,” a catchy song that reinterpreted a traditional folk song with references to McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Martin splits his time between Dubai and the UK and continues to work as a professional dancer and presenter on the Middle East version of Dancing with the Stars.
