For the first time in about five years, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has resumed permitting film shoots inside metro stations and trains in a bid to increase non-fare revenue, according to officials. According to reports, BMRCL earned Rs 24.8 million from shooting the film in 2013-14.

As per BMRCL rules, a security deposit of Rs.600,000 shall be paid by the applicant as bill against possible damage to BMRCL property. This deposit will be refunded after BMRCL proves that there is no loss or damage to the property. An accident to a vehicle occurred during the filming process.

Applicants will also be charged a non-refundable license fee of Rs 50,000 per hour or part thereof, subject to a maximum of Rs 60,000 per day plus taxes.

In addition to the license fee, BMRCL also collects a fee of Rs 20,000 per hour for the use of vehicles or wagons (vehicles). Rail buses can only be used after normal operating hours.

BMRCL will also scrutinize detailed shooting programs as well as detailed scripts related to feature films, documentary films or sequences of productions related to BMRCL premises and trains.

According to BMRCL officials, special approval will be required for drone photography near stations, railway tracks, and above trains, and the fee will be increased by 25% from the regular fee.

As part of the concession, prices for Kannada films will be reduced by 25% from the recommended tariff. On the other hand, prices for foreign films are lower by one order of magnitude, but in US dollars. For example, if the license fee for an Indian film is 50,000 rupees, the license fee for a foreign film will be 5,000 USD.
