A surprising 2017 true crime movie is closing in on Netflix’s top spot
True Crime as serial killer biopic ‘My Friend Dahmer’ climbs up the Netflix UK rankings, currently at number 2, and looks set to knock ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ off the top spot The enthusiasm for it seems like it will never go away.
Directed by Mark Myers, My Friend Dahmer follows the high school life of young Jeffrey Dahmer, played by Disney star Ross Lynch, through the eyes of his friend John Backderf, played by Hereditary’s Alex Wolff. The 2017 film depicts Dahmer as a man who rampaged through class, scared other students, and even collected animal carcasses and melted their bones until he became one of the most brutal and notorious serial killers in U.S. history. It focuses on his strange youth. The story is based on Backderf’s novel of the same name and details the true story of his own teenage friendship with Dahmer.
The Dahmer Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story series, starring Evan Peters and directed by Ryan Murphy, is now available on Netflix and will shock viewers with its detailed depiction of the cannibal killer’s rampage in the 1980s.
