“I don’t really like Hollywood. It’s not for me,” says Tom Holland | English Film News
Tom Holland loves making movies, but says he feels like the entertainment industry isn’t for him.
“Look, I’m a really big fan of filmmaking, but I don’t really like Hollywood, it’s not for me,” the British actor said on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast.
The 27-year-old actor reportedly added, “This business is really scary. I understand that I’m a part of it and I enjoy being involved in my own way.”
Holland continued, “That being said, I’m always looking for ways to step away from the situation and live as normal a life as possible.”
“Do this today, [podcast] It’s very unusual for me to do something like that,” he reportedly added, noting that Shetty’s platform felt like a vulnerable “safe space” to him.
Ms Holland also said some of her friends had “lost themselves” in the entertainment industry and she feared the same thing would happen to her.
Holland, who is dating “Euphoria” star Zendaya, said, “I definitely think the idea of “don’t lose yourself” continues even now.”
“I’ve seen a lot of people who came before me and lost themselves. Some of my friends I grew up with got so wrapped up in this business that we weren’t friends anymore. Some people did.”
“The things that make me happy are my family, my friends, my carpentry, my golf, my mother’s charity work,” he continued.
“That’s what really makes me happy, and that’s what I need to protect.”
