Bollywood’s Living Legend Waheeda Rahman Wins Dada Saheb Phalke Award

The 69th National Film Awards, held in the national capital on Tuesday, brought together generations and sartorial styles as President Drupadi Murmu praised headline-grabbing actors, from Waheeda Rahman to Alia Bhatt.
Rahman was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Indian cinema. Elegant as ever, she appeared in a cream and gold sari, accessorized with a green necklace and matching earrings, and her hair tied in a bun.
The President congratulated Mr. Rahman, saying that his artistry and personality had earned him a place at the top of the industry.

The National Award for Best Hindi Film went to the biographical historical drama film Sardar Udham (2021). The film’s director Shoojit Sircar received this comment. The film stars Vicky Kaushal in the title role.
‘Sardar Udham’ also won Best Cinematography (Avik Mukhopadhayay), Best Production Design, Best Costume Designer and Best Sound.
Alia won the Best Actress award for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. She attended the ceremony wearing her wedding saree. She was accompanied by her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, who was busy posing for her photos.
Kriti Sanon also won the Best Actress award for her performance in ‘Mimi’. The actress looked gorgeous in a cream and multi-colored saree with golden borders. She tied her hair in a bun and opted for neutral makeup.
Tollywood star Allu Arjun won the Best Actor award for ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. He wore a traditional white costume. The film also won the Best Music Director award, which was won by Devi Sri Prasad.

SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster hit ‘RRR’ won the ‘Best Popular Film Award for Wholesome Entertainment’. The film also won the Best Music Director award, which went to MM Keeravaani.
The blockbuster action drama film RRR also won Best Special Effects, Best Choreography, and Best Action Director (Stunt Choreography).
The award for Best Editing went to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who was acclaimed for the film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. The film also won Best Screenplay and Best Makeup Artist.
Shreya Ghoshal won the award for Best Female Playback Singer for the song ‘Maayava Chaayavaa’ from the Tamil film ‘Iravin Nijjar’. And Kala Bhairava won the Best Male Playback Singer award for his song ‘Komurom Bheemudo’ from the Telugu version of the movie ‘RRR’.
The Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration went to Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files. Pallavi Joshi won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in ‘The Kashmir Files’. Pankaj Tripathi won the Best Supporting Actor award for ‘Mimi’.
The Best Child Artist award went to Babin Rabari for his performance in the Gujarati film ‘Cello Show’.
The Special Jury Award went to the film ‘Shershaah’ starring Siddharth Malhotra. Director Vishnu Varadhan received this honor.
