New TV shows and movies streaming this weekend on Netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV, Max, Paramount, Peacock, and more

It’s Friday the 13th in mid-October, and if this isn’t a spooky prelude to Halloween, I don’t know what is.

So it’s only fitting that there are at least some new streaming options to take advantage of this spookiest season. If horror isn’t your thing, you have options.

Let’s take a look. Here’s all the new content streaming this weekend on Netflix, Disney+, Max, and more.

New and recurring streaming shows

Let’s start with a scary story!

The Fall of the House of Usher (Netflix)

Mike Flanagan is returning to Netflix with yet another horror drama limited series. This time it’s based on a story by Edgar Allen Poe. Modern interpretations of these chilling classics include midnight mass, Flanagan’s last project (which I loved). This is available on Netflix.

Goosebumps (Disney+)

R.L. Stine rivals Stephen King in terms of being a big name in horror fiction, but Stine’s work is almost always aimed at younger readers. I get goosebumps became a great series in the ’90s and got several movies made over the years, but now it’s getting a terrifying new reboot on Disney+, and it’s getting pretty good reviews from both critics and audiences .

John Carpenter’s Suburban Cry (Peacock)

This is a pretty good trailer. John Carpenter’s “Suburban Cry” Looks pretty scary. Even more frightening is its Rotten Tomatoes score, which currently sits at 22% among critics (viewer reviews are yet to come). It’s still a good chance, but having an average this low is not a good sign. The first season is available on Peacock.

Frasier (Paramount+)

Kelsey Grammer reprises his most famous and beloved role as Dr. Frasier Crane, aged and gray but still pompous and cheerful. He left Seattle for Boston, and he was the only one from the old show to join. His first two episodes are now available on Paramount+.

Chemistry Lessons (Apple TV+)

Brie Larson plays Elizabeth Szot, a scientist whose research isn’t taken seriously because she’s a woman in the 1960s. She will become the host of a cooking show. The film is based on the novel of the same name, which is based on Bonnie Garmuth’s own experiences. The first two episodes of Her are currently streaming on his Apple TV+.

Rick and Morty Season 7 (Adult Swim)

This won’t be released this weekend yet, but Adult Swim’s absurd new season begins without Justin Roiland rick and morty Drops this Tuesday. I think the new voice actors do a great job in the trailer above.

Daryl Dixon Season Finale (AMC)

The final episode of walking dead new spinoff daryl dixon It airs this Sunday night on AMC and AMC+. The show continues to disappoint despite its promising production values and attractive stars, but I’m hoping for something exciting to close out the season. Oh, and Carol is coming back for season 2!

Loki Season 2 (Disney+)

The adventures of Loki, the God of Wonders (Tom Hiddelston), continue weekly on Disney+. I really need to catch up on this show!I’ll go as soon as I finish watching it wheel of time I have to say that season 2 completely blew my expectations away. I’d like to say more on this point soon.
