The ’90s children’s TV legend goes unrecognizable on the red carpet with his rarely seen wife

Actor Dexter Fletcher looked very different on the red carpet last night, years after finding fame on ’90s children’s TV.

The 57-year-old two-time BAFTA nominee is currently working as a film director as well as an actor, appearing in the films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, as well as Bohemian. He has also directed “Rhapsody”.

Many may remember him for his role as Baby Face in the 1976 musical film Bugsy Malone.

Dexter attended the BFI London Film Festival 2023 Opening Night Gala Premiere of ‘Saltburn’ held at the Royal Festival Hall on Thursday.

He attended the glamorous event with his wife, Lithuanian opera director Daria Iverhauptaite, 56.

The actor-turned-director wore a black shirt, black suit and matching tie.

He was also seen smiling as he walked down the red carpet holding hands with his wife.

Dexter first found fame at the age of six when he landed the role of a robber in Alan Parker’s Bugsy Malone.

At the age of 23, he became a star on the hit British show Press Gang.

He has worked with many notable actors including Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins, Robert De Niro, Helen Mirren, Alan Rickman, and Liam Neeson.

He has also worked with esteemed directors Guy Ritchie and David Lynch.

In 2016, Dexter directed the Olympic ski jumping film Eddie the Eagle, starring Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman.

Two years later, he took over as director of Bohemian Rhapsody, which tells the story of the late pop star and icon Freddie Mercury and the band Queen.

The film was a huge success, grossing £54 million in the UK alone and winning four Oscars, including Best Film Editing and Best Actor for Rami Malek as Mercury.

In 2019, Dexter began production on the Elton John biopic Rocketman, in which he once again co-starred with Taron Egerton.

The song received four BAFTA nominations and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again.”

He continues to work on a number of projects, and in 2022 he executive produced the Paramount+ miniseries “The Offer,” which depicts The Godfather’s journey to the big screen.

He recently directed the romantic adventure comedy Ghosted, starring Ana de Armas and Chris Evans, which premiered on Apple TV+.

Dexter lives in London with his wife, whom he married in 1997.
