Johnny TV and Taya Valkyrie in their web series, among others
– AEW wrestlers Johnny TV and Tay Valkyrie recently spoke with Insight’s Chris Van Vleet about their careers, their worst bumps, their Johnny Loves Taya web series and more. Below are some important points:
Johnny TV on their web show: “This is a collaboration of three people. Our friend Justin Donaldson has been shooting and directing and editing and supervising posts and doing so much work, but we’re collaborating on stories together and we say from here, we have one day to finish everything we need for an episode. 10. It is mostly done.”
Taya Valkyrie on the next season finale: “Yeah, so we’ll be doing some professional shots and a few other things later today. But yes, it is infinite. But we’re almost done, the season finale is coming up. And it’s just so much work and labor of love. I just feel like we’re a lot more layered than just pro wrestlers, and it was an opportunity for us to show how creative and how different we can be compared to other pro wrestlers or different stories that you see with pairings and things like that. ”
Taya Valkyrie helps their careers in the show: “I think it’s really helped to remind people who we are, to re-establish us as heroes together, I think it’s had a positive effect on how people perceive us.” [like] When we were doing our corner with Dalton Castle and all that. And moving forward, we hope to be able to create a second season, and we hope to continue that because we’ve added a lot of fun. “
Johnny TV on his departure from Johnny Elite: “I think because Johnny Elite, The Elite is a band that’s already established. And I think Johnny Elite was Tony’s first idea. And then when I came back, I wasn’t signed full-time. It makes no sense at all for Johnny Elite and a band called The Elite. Hence Johnny TV. As we mentioned last time, TV is perfect because it’s ambiguous. He can stand anything. “
Johnny TV in the ladder match at WWE Armageddon 2006: “If you look closely at this clip, we both took the ladder. I’m a little taller than Joyce. And he was leaning and he hit me on the chin with the ladder. I went out to one side of the rim and it went up that way. I didn’t see what happened to him. I thought my jaw was broken. I have never been hit so hard in my life. I was on the floor holding my jaw. And just as quietly, I try to decide if I was hurt or hurt. If you are injured, then the match is over. If it hurts, you’re like, I can go, I can get it over with. A minute or two goes by like this, it’s almost time for me and Joey to get back in the ring. I crawled and thought, where’s Joey? I looked up the ramp and saw this trail of blood. And the coach takes him out and thinks to himself, oh, we’ve got a lot left. Then I just ran in and tried to do as much as possible of what we both had to do as a tag team on our own. And then, man, that night was rough. It was like we were in the hospital for about six hours. He sutured the cartilage. They realigned his bone, his orbital, and then they stitched his skin over his sutured cartilage yeah. I think it’s the worst accident I’ve seen to date.”
Taya Valkyrie’s most painful bump: “I mean, I was very fortunate to be 13, 14 years old in wrestling, knock on wood. When my nose was broken, it sucked. I mean, I’ve been kicked and all kinds of things, you know, especially when some people aren’t there to catch you when you’re diving off the outside, I’ve had a few of those. I’ve been hit in the head by a few different people who shouldn’t have hit me like that. Brian Cage bombed me a few times, which made me cringe.
