Riz Ahmed joins Wes Anderson’s latest film
Riz Ahmed is now a Wes Anderson featured player.
The actor, was last seen in Apple’s love drama nailsjoining the roster of the acclaimed auteur’s latest project, is an untitled film now being filmed in Berlin.
Plot details are kept under the breast pocket but it is shaping up to be another piece of music with many of his usual cadre of performers.
Benicio del Toro and Bill Murray are also on the call sheet for the project. The film features a script from Anderson and Roman Coppola, who have worked on five of the director’s films. Michael Cera, who also appears in the photo, is among Anderson’s other first-time actors.
The project was at one point looking to break ground in the fall of 2023, but double strikes last year pushed the start of production.
This feature does not have a distributor at this point even though Anderson’s previous outing was in 2023 Asteroid cityreleased by Focus Features.
Ahmed has shown his versatility moving back and forth from gritty indies to big studio blockbusters. He received an Academy Award nomination for his outstanding performance in the popular drama The sound of metal He won the 2022 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for the film Long goodbye.
As it appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars StorySony Marvel movie Poisonand Jake Gyllenhaal’s thriller Night crawler. He won an Emmy Award for his role in the miniseries a night.
Ahmed, who played the starring role nails With Jeremy Allen White and Jesse Buckle, represented by WME and attorneys Tara Cole and Danny Passman.
