I spoke my mind without saying anything. It lags behind South India. The acclaimed filmmaker said that Bollywood has become too disconnected from its roots and is remaking low-budget Marathi films for commercial gain, with the aim of “making money”. Ta.

In a conversation with Honest Saying Podcast, Dibakar said that the South Indian film industry has influenced the way Bollywood films are made in the past few years. The filmmaker said, “This isn’t a four-year problem, it’s been 10 to 15 years, and we’ve just been slow to read the signs. Over the last 10, 10-and-a-half years. They’ve come up with new interpretations of old superstars, they’ve invested in stories, they’ve invested in subverting the superstar genre.”

He goes on to say, “Additionally, the independent film industry, the film industry in Kerala, for example, has retained its atmosphere because they have kept the theaters alive.” Don’t let fees hold you back from your budget. They were also smart about trying to increase the number of theaters. ”

The filmmaker also noted how filmmakers in the Hindi film industry are isolated from the stories around them, noting that the South Indian film industry is also investing in “local stories.” According to him, the bigwigs of the Bollywood industry are known for indulging in English novels and crossword bestsellers. Unfortunately, they do not have the ability to read Hindi or Bengali or become acquainted with Gujarati stories, which are deeply ingrained in our culture. He further said, “Marathi filmmakers make low-budget films that we remake and make money from.” Our ability to dive into our own stories is diminishing, so is definitely ahead of us.”
