Story:

Aryan Agnihotri (Shahid Kapoor) is a robotics engineer working in his aunt Urmila’s (Dimple Kapadia) company. His family wants him to marry a woman and live a settled life, but Aryan keeps postponing his marriage plans. At the invitation of his aunt, Aryan goes to America to work on an important project. Urmila receives an important call and heads to another city to handle an urgent mission. Urmila asks her manager Shihra (Kriti Sanon) to take care of Aryan in her absence. Aryan and Shihra grow closer to each other and the former falls completely in love with the latter. However, Aryan learns that Shiphra is not a human but a humanoid robot. What did Aryan do next? Did he forget Shifra? Who did he marry? This forms the core of the story.

The story of Teri Burton Mein Aisa Urja Jiya is simple but what goes well with the film is its fun elements. The makers are well aware that they don’t have a great plot at hand. Therefore, they peppered the film with gags and situation comedies. Shahid Kapoor’s efforts to make her family believe that Kriti Sanon is human will tickle our fancy.

There are a lot of heart-teasing moments in this movie, but they’re handled well. A pre-climactic episode in which a humanoid robot malfunctions is sure to split your mind. Kriti Sanon’s performance in this sequence is amazing. Dimple Kapadia does the role well. The idea of ​​this movie itself is fascinating and different from other movies made about artificial intelligence.

Shahid Kapoor has done a phenomenal job in this film. The way the actor expresses his emotions and frustration after finding out that Kriti is a robot is amazing. Shahid Kapoor’s comedic timing is very good and his emotional performance in the finale is impactful. Lately, Shahid has been seen in more serious roles, but this film showcases his fun side.

National award winning actress Kriti Sanon is amazing as Shifra. She certainly did not find it easy to play this role, but Kriti Sanon nailed it with ease. The songs are pleasant and the visuals are easy on the eyes.

One thing that needs a lot of improvement in this movie is its emotional quotient. There are some decent emotional moments, but they are overshadowed by the fun angle. Therefore, Teri Burton Mein Aisa Urja Jiya cannot be a wholesome entertainer as it lacks integrity. Some people may enjoy the lighthearted comedy, but once the movie is complete, there isn’t much to gain from it.

The film is slow at times and the editing team could have shortened the length of some of the family scenes as they don’t add much value. Dharmendra’s character lacks much importance and is underdeveloped. The senior actor’s performance and character in the previous film (Rocky O Rani) had a great impact, but this romantic comedy was a disappointment in that respect.

Technical aspects:

A romantic comedy like this needs good songs and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya gets it right. The title songs ‘Akhiyaan Gulaab’ and ‘Laal Peeli Akhiyaan’ are lovely to listen to and watch. Laxman Utekar’s visuals are a feast for the eyes and the film looks rich with solid production values. Just editing is fine.

Directors Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sir have done a decent job. They did manage to throw in some funny moments on a regular basis, but the writing department could have done better when it came to emotional moments and drama.

Overall, Teri Barton Mein Aisa Urja Jiya is a time-consuming entertainer with lots of fun moments. It’s clear that the creators wanted to consistently provide entertainment, and in that respect they succeed. Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are wonderful in their roles and their chemistry is great. However, the lack of emotional depth limits the film from reaching the next level. Also, the movie may be slow at times. If you like watching romantic comedies, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ will end up being a decent watch.
