Comedy web series “Dolmi Diaries” JAMnews
Three new episodes of the unique cross-Caucasian comedy web series “Dolmi Diaries” have been released.
You can watch all three videos below.
This series depicts the lives of three young men – an Armenian, an Azerbaijani and a Georgian – who live in a rented apartment on the bustling streets of Berlin. Their journey unfolds against the backdrop of receiving an education in Germany, supported by scholarships that depend on the prerequisite of cohabitation with an opponent.
A consortium of South Caucasian and German civic activists and media producers directs the series, which aims to break down entrenched stereotypes.
“Despite the ongoing tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia, we strive for peaceful coexistence and are sure that the stories of friendship and trust between the characters of Armenian and Azerbaijani TV series can be an example.“, says the producer of the series, Oliver Meiser.
The first, pilot episode was released with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in the fall of 2022. And you can watch it here. It’s worth watching the pilot episode first because it introduces the main characters and highlights the main plot lines.
Oliver Meiser also explains how the Dolmi Diaries series came about there. “Why not scoff at a mindset that allows war as a possible solution to problems?– says Meizer.
