Ben Affleck and Matt Damon team up again for crime thriller ‘Animals’ – The Hollywood Reporter

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are back together again, this time in a new crime thriller that just arrived on Netflix.

Affleck will direct the animalsWhich will star Damon. Filming could take place in Los Angeles by March, if all the pieces come together.

The secret project operated under several titles – Los Angeles animals And Be gentlemen – Before simply landing the animals.

Written by Conor McIntyre with reviews by Billy Ray, the crime thriller follows a mayoral candidate and his wife whose son has been kidnapped. Surrounded by many enemies, political and otherwise, the husband and wife have no choice but to get their hands dirty in order to save their son.

Affleck and Damon will produce the film through their respective artists’ rights alongside the company’s Danny Bernfeld. Brad Weston and Colin Creighton are also producing via their MakeReady banner. The fifth season will also be produced by the production, sales and distribution company formerly known as Endeavor Content. The company developed the project in partnership with MakeReady.

Best friends and lifelong collaborators, Affleck and Damon have been working together for decades. However, only in recent years have they launched Artists Equity, an artist-led studio that seeks to financially reward everyone involved in a film. Their first film, Out of the Gate, was last year’s acclaimed drama, airThe story of how Sonny Vaccaro changed the fortune of shoemaker Nike by signing a young Michael Jordan. Affleck directed the Amazon film titled Damon.

At the top of the airAffleck’s previous directorial credits include winning the Academy Award for Best Picture Argo And the popular crime thriller Cityamong several other films.

Damon has a major part in the Manhattan Project in Christopher Nolan’s film Oppenheimer He will be seen in Ethan Coen’s lesbian road comedy Driving away dollswhich opens Focus Features on February 23.
