While speaking recently at Aquaman At a follow-up event at the IWC Schaffhausen store in Beverly Hills, Safran answered a question about Momoa’s future at DC Studios. “When I think of Jason in this role, he is the ultimate Aquaman,” he replied. The film, directed by James Wan, was also met with negative reviews and critical reviews. It currently has a 38 percent critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In its review, Hollywood Reporter Arts and culture critic Lovia Jarecki said that the second part is “frustratingly adherent to formula”.
But for Safran, he’s just hoping fans are “really here to support him (Momoa) on this journey. If it’s the end of the journey, that’s fine. If it continues, that’s fine too, but I think it means a lot to him. “The truth is, if the audience likes it, there’s a possibility,” Momoa said of the possibility of playing Aquaman again. “But right now, I’m like, ‘It doesn’t look very good.’”
He added: “I love this character and (want) to play him for a long time. I kind of see where I want it to go. And even in the next ten years or so, there are a lot of cool things they can do. I enjoy the role and the world. So, I mean it’s just a matter of whether people like it.
