Karan Johar releases teaser for new web series ‘Showtime’ starring Emraan Hashim, Naseeruddin Shah and Mouni Roy
Acclaimed filmmaker Karan Johar has announced his upcoming web series, ‘Showtime’, produced under Dharmatic Entertainment. The series explores the theme of nepotism and stars Emraan Hashmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Mouni Roy and others who explore the intricacies of the entertainment industry through their individual interests. The teaser introduces the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’, Emraan Hashmi, who remarks, “Behind the mask of nepotism, every outsider eventually wants to become an insider.”
Naseeruddin Shah emerges as a master who declares, “Cinema is not my business, it is my religion.” The series also stars Vijay Raaz, Shriya Saran, Rajeev Khandelwal and others. ‘Showtime’, a Hotstar Original, is slated to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar in 2024. Karan Johar shared the teaser on Instagram and said, “Entangled in a power struggle, ‘Showtime’ is a web series that pushes boundaries…only to cross them.” Reaction to the teaser shows enthusiasm for the series, with viewers eagerly awaiting its release. in ‘Tiger 3’ and Mouni Roy, known for his role in ‘Brahmastra’, is part of the star-studded cast and the series is produced by Sumit Roy.
