Annapurna Studios has produced a Telugu web series titled Vyooham which is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Check out our review to know how it is.

story:

New ACP Arjun Ramachandra (Sai Sushant Reddy) is tasked with cracking a case involving Michael (Chaitanya Krishna) who has lost his unborn child. As Arjun digs deeper into the investigation, he uncovers a complex web of interconnected cases that include the death of his own mother. what happens next Has Arjun managed to solve a mysterious case related to someone else? The series unravels these mysteries.

Plus points:

Sai Sushant Reddy gives a good performance as the Assistant Commissioner of Police which ensures that the serial runs well.

Chaitanya Krishna is delightful in his role, performing beautifully. Ravindra Vijay, who plays a nuanced cop, shines despite his limited screen time and leaves a lasting impact with his refined acting.

The director skilfully narrates several episodes, successfully building the necessary excitement for a tense thriller.

The score adds depth to the story here and there, and the well-executed twists keep the interest going, thanks to the cohesive teamwork.

Minus points:

While the plot synopsis promises a believable suspense-filled series, linking multiple incidents to a car accident creates confusion.

At times, viewers may question the decision to make the series too long and wonder why the plot was deliberately dragged in the middle.

The introduction of many characters, some with no significant contribution, is a drawback. For example, Monika Tagalapalli, who portrays an IAS officer, does not have a strong character.

Technical aspects:

Director Sashikanth Srivaishnav Peesapat, also the writer of the story, could have simplified the narrative given the complexities of multiple stories and characters. A more focused script would have turned Vyooham into a more refined suspense thriller.

Among the technical team, Shriam Madhuri contributes effectively with his background score. Siddhartha Reddy’s commendable cinematography contrasts with Sai Murali’s editing, which would have been much better to enhance the Vyooham series.

Verdict:

Overall, Vyoham ends up being a disappointing thriller despite satisfactory performances by Sai Sushant Reddy, Chaitanya Krishna and Ravindra Vijay. The complexity of the plot, unnecessary length, underdeveloped characters and their stories appear as shortcomings. It is advisable to explore alternative entertainment options.
