In a surprising move in 2020, Deepika Padukone visited JNU. There, student leaders spoke at a rally condemning attacks on university students by masked individuals. She was standing alongside students at Sabarmati T-point during a public meeting organized by JNU alumni. Padukone did not speak at the meeting, but she spent an hour at the meeting before she left.
