Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou reveals the role in the Hollywood film changed her life

Most people know Australian actress Ada Nicodemou as Leah Patterson in Home and Away, a role she has been playing for 20 years.

But the iconic TV star shared a moment from her role in one of the biggest and most influential sci-fi films of all time.

It appears many of her Instagram followers didn’t know she appeared in the film, if their reaction to the recent post is anything to go by.

Sharing a clip from Keanu Reeves’ blockbuster film The Matrix, Ada wrote: “Throwback to the time I was in #TheMatrix and played White Rabbit Girl 🐇 🎬.”

That’s right, Ada fans — one year before joining the cast of Home and Away, Ada wowed viewers as Dujour, aka The White Rabbit Girl, in the 1999 classic.

Dujur was a vampire-looking character who visited Neo (Keanu Reeves) with her boyfriend Chewie (Mark Gray) at his apartment to pick up illegal software that Neo had written in his spare time for extra money.

She has a tattoo of a white rabbit on her left shoulder, which Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) uses to lead Neo to a local nightclub for their first meeting.

While some fans remember Ada from the movie, most had no idea.

“That’s so cute!” one fan wrote, while another dropped a shocked face emoji.

“Oh my god, I love this movie, now tell me about it!” another wrote.

“What a wonderful experience!”

“From humble beginnings to the current success story. You have come a very long way!” A third wrote.

“OMG I’ve seen this so many times I didn’t even realize it was you. 😮😍” another added.

“I remember that movie, I can’t believe it, I didn’t realize it was her, oh God!” said one fan.

Others raved about Ada’s role, which involved working with Keanu.

“Wow Keanu, are your knees getting weak?” one person asked.

“Oh, those hours when I was forced to stare at Keanu!” another joked.

“just imagine.”

Referring to Ada’s sexy outfit in the scene she posted on Instagram, one fan asked: “Could this be Leia’s costume from Home and Away??”

“I just started rewatching this last night for the first time in decades and was like, ‘Is this Leia inside and out?'” another noted.

The Home and Away favorite’s acting career began five years before The Matrix in 1994 when she was cast as Katerina Ioannou in the film Heartbreak High.

After her roles in Police Rescue and Breakers, she landed a role in The Matrix which was filmed in Sydney.

The film featured several other Australian actors, from Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith to Matthew Doran, who played the mouse.
