Atlee revealed that he is working with a Hollywood writer for his next project, and the film could star Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay.
In a recent interview with TV anchor Gopinath, Atlee shared an important update about his next project. After achieving historic success for Shah Rukh Khan With Jawan, which went on to collect over Rs 1,100 crore at the box office, the director has remained mum about his next project. Now, he’s finally opened up about what he’s up to.
Atlee said that he had the approval of both Shah Rukh Khan and… Vijay For a dual-hero film during the making of Joan. The trio met at the director’s birthday party where the two stars told him they were ready for a film starring each other. Atlee said he is faithfully working on a script for them and it may eventually become his next project.

When asked if a Shah Rukh Khan-Vijay film has been confirmed, Atlee said: “I am currently working with a writer in Hollywood on the script. If they (Vijay and Shah Rukh Khan) are happy with it, it will be my next project. When Atlee asked what the film will be about, he said:” People have been asking me to do something different than the same old things. I’m honestly trying to do that with this movie. It will be something people haven’t seen in the past 30 years of cinema. “It will be something I’ve never done before.”

Attlee also confirmed that he would stop with some of the usual clichés such as flashbacks and killing off his heroines. “I’ll kill my brother instead (laughs).” I’m trying to make something else work.”
Atlee said that Vijay and Shah Rukh Khan have a great relationship. “In the last four years, I’ve seen their equation develop. They respect each other a lot.”
Currently, Atlee is shuttling between Chennai and Mumbai where he is in talks with a lot of Bollywood stars for future projects.
