In the closing days of the Tokyo International Film Festival. The Hollywood Reporter Japan Sprinkle some old-school charm into the proceedings with a lavish party at The Peninsula Hotel in Ginza.
On October 30, THR Japan She took over Peter Restaurant in an event that saw some of the biggest names in the Japanese film industry mingling, enjoying exquisite canapes and unique drinks from Sake Hundred surrounded on three sides by stunning night views of Tokyo from the 24th floor of The Peninsula Hotel.
The opening ceremony witnessed speeches by Tokyo Film Festival President Hiroyasu Ando. Tsukasa Shiga, president of Hersey Shiga Global, the digital media giant that does the licensing THR Japan In collaboration with Penske Media Corporation; Japanese Environment Minister and famous cinephile Shintaro Ito; And THRAsia Bureau Chief Patrick Brzeski.

Also present from the studio’s side were Toho Cinemas President Takayuki Ikeda; Kazushi Sato, Deputy General Manager and Senior Vice President, Sony Pictures Entertainment; Gaku Narita, President, Japan Content, and CEO, Disney; and Belina Tan, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Disney APAC.
The party also attracted local Tokyo dignitaries, including Ishii Mitsuko and Hirofumi Nakasone, members of Japan’s House of Councillors; Junko Koyama, President of Clarins Japan; Cathy Knowles, Marketing Director, MSC Cruises; Roberto Barbieri, Director of MHD; Yuiko Murase and Masashi Tanimura of Mitsubishi Estate; and Costain Mandrea, CEO and COO of Coca Cola Bottlers.
Launched in January, THR Japan is a Japanese-language entertainment publication based in Tokyo that includes important industry news translated from THRMain website, as well as original reporting on the Japanese entertainment business.
