Kolkata (West Bengal) (India), November 5 (ANI): Star batsman Virat Kohli is the man of the moment. On Sunday, he reached his 49th ODI century, equaling his ODI century, against South Africa in the 2023 World Cup at Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens. Interestingly, he achieved this milestone on his 35th birthday.
Kohli’s stunning knock sent the entire country into a celebratory mood. The Indian film industry also took to social media to congratulate Kohli on his achievement.
Kartik Aaryan called Kohli ‘GOAT’ in his Instagram story.

“Goat. Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday,” he wrote.
Varun Dhawan posted on Instagram, “100 points for Kohli, amazing.”

Actor Arjun Rampal also praised Kohli’s brilliant performance.
Rampal wrote on Instagram, “@virat.kohli you are beautiful, happy birthday. You deserve all this achievement and more. All the best for the semi-finals and finals. #happybirthdayviratkohli #legend #goat,” he wrote on Instagram.

Vicky Kaushal also supported Kohli.

And today, at Eden’s, GOAT completed an unbeaten century, matching SRT’s record.” 49th Century! Happy Birthday #ViratKohli. ”

Actor Saiyami Kher also praised Kohli.
“Virat scored his first hundred at Eden Gardens. Today, 14 years later, the King has scored his 49th point here, equaling Masters. It’s very special. We all know he is 35 years old. I knew you would give me a gift on your birthday. ) Virat played well! #KingKohli,” Saiyami tweeted.
Actor Venkatesh Daggubati described Kohli’s knock as “pure class and skill”.
“Great cricket play by @imVkohli. Birthday wishes like no other. #KingKohli,” he wrote on X.
Kohli’s wife Anushka also cheered for him.
Anushka wrote, “Give Apne some pekdoko on her birthday,” and added a photo of Kohli during the match.
Kohli started the innings in characteristically free fashion, going for shots and taking loose balls from the South African pacer. However, the tempo slowed down after the arrival of South African spinners. Kohli has already scored a ton of goals in this Cricket World Cup.
This was against Bangladesh in Pune, where he made an unbeaten 103 off 97 balls to lead India to a seven-wicket win and win the Player of the Match award. They came close to scoring one point against New Zealand in Dharamsala, but lost five. That’s not enough.
He then scored a brilliant 88 against Sri Lanka in Mumbai, but fell before he could clear the line. But it didn’t take long for him to equal that record, achieving his feat at Eden Gardens on Sunday. The top century makers in ODI cricket have three Indian players at the top, with Tendulkar and Kohli followed by Rohit Sharma (31). In men’s cricket, nine players have scored over 2500 in this format. (Ani)
