He added that discussions on social media should not seek to justify atrocities against innocent people. “You don’t have to be Jewish or Israeli. All you need is empathy and common sense to know this is wrong,” wrote Schnapp, who plays Will Byers on the hit Netflix series.

He urged his Instagram followers to stand up against terrorism, saying: “We should choose humanity over violence.” Schnapp also criticized his Instagram followers for supporting Ukraine and tackling climate change, while remaining silent during the “brutal killings” of Israelis by Hamas terrorists.

“Jews are watching your silence, and we will not forget it,” he told his nearly 26 million followers on Instagram in a statement.
