Former Disney employee opens creative studio in Ann Arbor

This summer, Creative Consulting Studio A2 Creative Lab We opened in Ann Arbor with the goal of helping small businesses and technology startups find unique ways to develop their online brands and identities. Founders Greg Shewchuk and Mike Ambuz use their experience working at Los Angeles film studios to bring their local creative vision to life.

Shewchuk and Ambuz initially worked together at Disney. Shewchuk says that risk-taking paid off in the form of a feature-length stop-motion film and a partnership between Disney and Google.

“I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit,” Shewchuk says. ”[While] Mike and I worked for Disney Interactive, we were both under contract, and we were running our own small businesses. ”

Shewchuk said his work at Disney helped him develop skills such as creative problem-solving and storytelling, which translates perfectly into the work he and Ambuz are currently doing at A2 Creative Labs. I’m telling you that. When the two left Disney and moved back to Michigan, Shewchuk said it made sense to work together on new and innovative endeavors.

“When you run your own business, you do a little bit of everything,” Shewchuk says. “We want to use our storytelling and visual language skills to help companies grow and participate in the local ecosystem.”

Since A2 Creative Labs opened, Schuchak says the response has been overwhelmingly positive. He added that the studio is continually reaching out and building relationships with other local businesses.

“We have a very rich opportunity and can paint from a very colorful palette,” he says. “Building relationships is the first big part of being successful as a company here.”

“If we can help companies tell their stories, that’s great,” Shewchuk said. “And the more we can tell the world about our community, our people, and our possibilities, the bigger a win for everyone.”
