The Walt Disney Company has been a leader in entertainment for many years, breaking several box office records with blockbuster movies each year. At one time, it seemed like only Disney, which has released some of the highest-grossing films of all time, could break that record. The tide has turned and Disney is barely making enough profits to survive.

With the company running out of cash thanks to the parks, Disney+, and its movies, Bob Iger’s goal was to stabilize what some thought was a sinking ship. Disney has removed dozens of shows from its streaming platform, reduced the content distributed to Disney+, and renewed its efforts to increase funding for its parks in exchange for more experiences like Galactic Star Cruiser.

Most fans expected Disney to see princess and frogIts success as a quick way to make a live-action remake of the film. Instead, Disney took the time to create another sequel to this story. That’s much more interesting. If Disney, led by Bob Iger, had made more sequels and fun stories with iconic characters, Disney might once again be at the top of the box office.

Over the past decade, Disney’s biggest successes haven’t been live-action. frozen (2013), Moana (2016), Here (2017), encanto (2021), tangled (2010), and zootopia (2016) are just a few of the big hits for Disney, and that’s because they tried to make something original. Sure, they may not be as lucrative as some live-action films, but animated films may now be more profitable for the company, as fans are tired of Disney’s endless remakes.
