These two iconic roles of his have remained in fans’ memories for decades.Quan continued to star in Encinoman, made the 2023 Oscars so exciting. Co-star Brendan Fraser won Best Actor and gave us a sweet reunion story. Most likely, Quan seems to have disappeared for a while after his early ’90s.

Fans seemed to think this was just a case of a child star deciding Hollywood wasn’t for him, but we later learned that Quan had been told he couldn’t be a star. He is said to have played a behind-the-scenes role. I loved Shorty so much and Data was my favorite of the Goonies. Looking at his work now as an adult, it’s clear that Quan has a way of commanding the screen that we’ve missed due to the racism that Hollywood is steeped in.
