Movie star Josh Duhamel says Hollywood is ‘sucking your soul out’ – Faithwire

Hollywood star Josh Duhamel says he moved back to his home state of North Dakota because Tinseltown is “sucking the soul out.”

The 50-year-old “Life As We Know It” actor said he “really didn’t fit in” with Hollywood culture during a recent appearance on “In Depth With Graham Bensinger.”

“There was just a lot of it,” he said. “I just missed the simplicity of who I really am. I’m just someone who doesn’t like going on red carpets or doing Hollywood stuff. I don’t hate it. Now I’m better than I used to be, but it took me a long time to really feel like I fit in.”

Duhamel also said that a star-studded life “can suck your soul out if you’re not careful.”

“Sometimes when you’re out there, you need to find a healthy outlet to get your hands dirty and do something that gives you some purpose,” he said.

The celebrity blamed Hollywood for his divorce from his longtime wife Fergie, to whom he was married from 2009 to 2019. They have one son, Axel.

Duhamel said she has no negative feelings toward Fergie, whose real name is Stacey Ann Ferguson. But he said he and his ex-wife came into the spotlight in different ways.

“We had a great time, but I think we both grew up and had completely different interests,” he said. “The older I get, the more I want to come back.” [to North Dakota] … [but] This is not for her. But I have no hard feelings about it. Not really. ”

Duhamel has since remarried former Miss World America Audra Mari. The couple is expecting their first child soon.
