Joe Flaherty pays tribute to the SCTV, Freaks and Geeks and Happy Gilmore actor

Joe Flaherty, who started his career on the Canadian comedy show SCTV He is best known for his roles as Harold Weir Freaks and GeeksDonald V Happy Gilmore And Western Union Man in Back to the future part twoHe died on Tuesday after an undisclosed illness. He was 82 years old.
His daughter, Gudrun Flaherty, confirmed his death to The Canadian Press. As reported in February, Toronto comedy troupe Second City organized a fundraiser to facilitate the late actor’s health.
The message in the fundraiser read: “Our loved ones SCTV Cast member, Joe Flaherty, is seriously ill. Joe realizes the seriousness of his deteriorating health and wants to spend any remaining time at home rather than in a facility.
After his death was confirmed, many of Flaherty’s co-stars and notable fans reacted to the news. for him Freaks and Geeks Co-star John Francis Daley, who played his son Sam in the classic series, wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Joe Flaherty made me so angry it was devastating. My favorite days on set were the ones we had It has scenes together. What a beautiful man.
