The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, is inspired by true events. When a handshake deal goes awry, funeral home owner Jeremiah O’Keefe (Jones) enlists the help of charismatic and smooth-talking lawyer Willie E. Gary (Fox) to save his family’s business. Tempers flare and laughs ensue as two unlikely people bond while exposing corporate corruption and racial injustice in this moving and triumphant story. .
