‘iCarly’ reboot canceled after three seasons by Paramount+
I have some unfortunate news. The restart of “iCarly” has been completed.
A Paramount+ spokesperson told USA TODAY on Thursday that the sitcom’s revival was canceled after three seasons.
“The series has had a great run over three seasons, delivering what fans really wanted to see: Carly and Freddie finally coming together,” the network said in a written statement.
The station added: “We would like to thank the entire cast, writers, directors, producers and staff for their dedication, creativity and talent.”
The original series aired on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012 and starred Miranda Cosgrove, Jennette McCurdy, and Nathan Cress as Carly, Sam, and Freddy. The series follows the trio as they create a quirky web series featuring fun and random dance segments with special guests.
The series ended in 2012 when Carly moved abroad and said goodbye to Freddie.

The reboot was announced in December 2020, promising to deliver something special to adult fans of the original series. The first episode of the reboot premiered about six months later on Paramount+ in June 2021, but McCurdy declined to continue.
In the new series, Carly and Freddy return to the apartment complex from the original series, and Carly decides to revive the web series.

Series ends after cliffhanger episode
While the reboot aired, “iCarly” fans got to watch Carly and Freddie reunite and not only explore their feelings for each other, but also navigate dating, divorce, and living with roommates.
New characters will also be introduced, including Carly’s roommate and best friend Harper, played by Lacey Mosley.
The new series also stars Josh Peck, who played Cosgrove’s brother-in-law on Drake & Josh. According to IMDB, Peck previously appeared in one episode of the original iCarly series.

In the series finale, Carly and Freddie discuss the possibility of marriage and Carly’s fears of acting out due to abandonment issues stemming from her childhood.
Carly tells Freddie, “I never thought I’d fall in love with you, but you were always there,” and Freddie says he can’t wait to spend the rest of his life with her.
But just before the episode ends, someone makes a surprise appearance that makes Carly’s jaw drop to the floor.
Ending here, Paramount+ did not immediately respond to a question about whether there is any hope for a film to conclude the series.
Both the original iCarly series and its revival are available to stream on Paramount+.
