Angry Youth is a documentary series that showcases the brilliant partnership of writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, known as Salim-Javed, in Hindi cinema. The duo have worked together in 24 films including ‘Sholay’, ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’, ‘Trishul’, ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’, ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ and more. ‘Angry Young Men’ will be released on Prime Video on August 20.
2. Kalki 2898
“Kalki 2898 AD” is set in a post-apocalyptic world and focuses on humans trying to save the unborn child of SUM-80, a laboratory subject. The film stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles. Kamal Haasan is seen as the main antagonist with Disha Pathan, Brahmanandam, Saswatha Chatterjee, Rajendra Prasad, Shobhana, Pasupathi and Anna Ben playing the lead roles. The film will be released on Netflix on August 22 in Hindi and will be released on Prime Video in other languages on the same day.
3. Pachinko 2
“Pachinko” is based on Min Jin Lee’s 2017 novel and its first season airs on Apple TV+. The series revolves around four generations of a Korean immigrant family and how they travel through Korea, Japan and America. Starring Yoon Yoo-jung, Lee Min-ho, Kim Minha and Jin Ha. The series will premiere on Apple TV+ on August 23, 2024.
4. Ryan
‘Raayan’ revolves around a young man who seeks revenge after his family is murdered and this leads him into the criminal underworld. The film stars Dhanush, S.J. Suriya, Prakash Raj, Selvaragavan, Sundeep Kishan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Saravanan. It will be released on Prime Video on August 23, 2024.
5. Frog
“Frog” revolves around a landlord who rents a room to a ghostly woman who comes to visit. The situation changes when something supernatural happens in the house. The series stars Kim Yoon-seok, Yoon Kye-sing, Go Min-si and Lee Jung-eun. Its first episode will be released on Netflix on August 23, 2024.
