Akshay Kumar’s Marathi film ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudru Saath’ faces budget problems

Akshay Kumar is all set to make his Marathi debut with the historical drama “Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat”, in which he will play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In 2022, Akshay began shooting for a cameo role, clips of which were shared on social media. However, there have been no further updates about the film since then.

According to a report from Bollywood Hungama, recent rumours suggest that the future of Vedat Marathe Veer Daudl Saath is uncertain as producer Wasim Qureshi is facing budgetary issues. The report further adds that Akshay has shot for three days and 50% of the film is complete, but there is no word on the shooting schedule or release date for Vedat Marathe Veer Daudl Saath.

Back in 2022, Ajay Devgn had praised Akshay’s film, saying, “Dear Akshay Kumar, I am looking forward to playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Maratha film ‘Vedat Maratha Veer Daudl Saath’. He is my favourite Maratha hero and I am happy that another film is being made that pays tribute to this great warrior.” Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, ‘Vedat Maratha Veer Daudl Saath’ stars Pravin Tarde, Hardik Joshi, Vishal Nikam, Jay Dudhane, Utkarsha Shinde and Virat Madke as seven brave warriors.

Earlier, the makers had announced that ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudl Saath’ would release during Diwali in 2023, but it was reportedly postponed to avoid clash with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer ‘Tiger 3.’ It was also revealed that the production team needed more time to shoot the war sequences, which led to the postponement of ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudl Saath’ release.
