Disney’s Hollywood Studios show shows pause, ‘Disney Movie Magic’ removed from Walt Disney World website
Due to a special event, screenings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios “The Wonderful World of Animation” have been temporarily suspended while the status of “Disney Movie Magic” is unclear.
Projection shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
A stage was erected in the middle of Disney’s Hollywood Studios a few days ago, blocking the view of the front of the TCL Chinese Theater that houses Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. The stage is dedicated to a special event – the SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference in Orlando on June 5th. The park will close to regular guests at 5:30pm that day.
According to the “Wonderful World of Animation” webpage, there won’t be any showings of the show until June 7 at 10 p.m., giving Disney a day after the event to take the stage. After June 7, “The Wonderful World of Animation” is scheduled to be shown daily at 9pm until the end of June.
However, there are no set showtimes for “Disney Movie Magic.” In fact, the “Disney Movie Magic” page on the Walt Disney World website no longer exists. Searching the My Disney Experience app for the offer yields no results. The only Chinese Theater entertainment on the Disney’s Hollywood Studios map is “The Wonderful World of Animation.”
Night shows often have fewer or no shows during the summer months due to the longer days and shorter nights. Disney Movie Magic may have paused showings. But if that’s the case, it’s odd that Disney would remove the show from its website instead of indicating that it’s on hiatus. It’s possible that Disney has quietly ended the show for good.
