Exclusive: Action director Alan Amin slams modern Hindi action films: “It looks fake. In Dhoom, they pitted Abhishek Bachchan against John Abraham in the trailer. The same scene was copied in Pattern with Shah Rukh Khan and John.” – Bollywood News
Alan Amin is one of the country’s most acclaimed action directors. He not only makes cool action movies, Main hunna, doom, das, It also appears in realistic movies such as Satya, Queen of Thieves, etc. Exclusive Interview Bollywood HungamaAlan Amin explained what’s wrong with Bollywood action films these days.
It is said that people are tired of flashy action movies, which is one of the reasons why action movies are not popular. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan It didn’t impress people. Do you feel the same way?
Yes, stupidity comes in the form of action. When you exaggerate, you only need to do it a little. Here’s what I did: Doom 2 (2006). I had shot a scene with Hrithik Roshan where he had to jump from a helicopter onto a moving train. Before shooting the scene, I told a base jumper, “Just jump and land on the train.” He did a test jump and landed on the train. It was then and only then did I realise this is possible. And only then did we go ahead with the scene. Otherwise we wouldn’t have shot the scene.
Gadal 2 and animalOn the one hand, it was successful because the action was more graphic – do you think that appealed to people?
Yes, you’re right: these two films were successful because no one was flying.
Our manufacturers should follow Mission Impossible And look at how they do it. Would Tom Cruise be so stupid as to hang out of a plane? Would our actors have the guts to do that? If not, at least imitate what they do.
There is also a trend to hire foreign action directors…
This trend has always been there. Sometimes action movies hire foreigners. Sometimes they sign foreign cinematographers.
But the problem is that filmmakers end up copying and pasting. war (2019) Fast and Furious The producers said,Ah, yes. movie Main Kyahaisame Cheese Muje Calque deThis prevents manufacturers from coming up with innovative ideas.
Tell us about the days when actors did their own stunts.
We had an actor who could do stunts like Akshay Kumar, and I had him dangle under a helicopter and get hit by a car. Ashanto (1993). And he did it so well, he’d still open his iPad to show you that scene today!
He also performed a dangerous airplane scene. Khiladi 420 (the year of 2000)…
If you could do it then, you can do it now, but you have to conceptualize those sequences. Nowadays it’s all done on blue screen, and the content has to be there too.
Tell us about your journey and how you got involved in the industry.
My father is A Ghani, an action director. I was always interested in racing. I used to race bikes as a hobby. My father told me, “Why are you on a bike? Do some stunts,” so I started doing stunts and to some extent started my racing career as well.
Which was your first film?
I Dill (1990) and beta (1992). I jumped over a bus and a truck on my bike. Dill. in betawe shot the “Well of Death” scene.
At the same time, she also appeared in films such as Satya (1998)…
There was no cable back then, so the action in that movie was very realistic. There were two genres when it came to action: one was all-out action, and the other was realistic action. Satya It falls into the latter category, Sarkar Series and company (2002).
What film are you proud of?
There are many, but one movie that stands out in particular is Queen of Thieves (1994). A British newspaper wrote about me and the action in this movie in their review. They said you have to see it to believe how good the action is.
What action movie have you seen recently that impressed you?
Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part 1That’s real action, not running and jumping at a green screen – that just looks fake. DoomIn the trailer, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham have created a fight scene. The same scene patternShah Rukh Khan and John Abraham were in it. A bus was used instead of a truck. It was the same thing, but DoomIf you show this scene to your child Doom after that patternEven he said, “They (patternThe makers of this film could have at least made it a little more realistic.
We haven’t seen much of your work lately. Why is that?
I’ve slowed down a bit. How long will I work? I’ve been working for 40 years.
Any final thoughts?
Follow Mission Impossible‘s actions will help bring recognition to our industry. Mission ImpossibleThe action is over the top, but it looks real and possible. There are some impossible things in it, like the flying scenes with Shah Rukh and John. patternHow is that possible? Mission Impossible Things like, “I can’t do that.” Maybe you can’t do it, but Tom Cruise can do it. So I admire him. He’s actually hung from the outside of the Burj Khalifa. It’s incredible to see him do stunts at his age. fast and furiousmaking every action scene you see possible.
