South Park’s Matt Stone and Trey Parker team up with Kendrick Lamar.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker join forces with rapper Kendrick Lamar in a live-action comedy from Paramount Pictures.
During its presentation Thursday at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the studio announced an original comedy film from South Park Creators Stone and Parker are set to begin filming this summer and will hit theaters on July 4th, 2025. Lamar and Dave Free serve as producers through their company PGLang, while Stone and Parker are producing for Park County.
“I am thrilled to announce that we will begin production this summer on a (comedy) film from my creators South Park“, Matt Stone and Trey Parker,” Paramount Film President Brian Robbins told the audience about the currently untitled film. “This is one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read, and is sure to create some fireworks when it hits theaters on July 4, 2025.”
The project was first announced in 2022, with Vernon Chatman working on the script.
Stone and Parker are best known for creating the Comedy Central animated series South Parkwhich aired its twenty-sixth season last year and produced a theatrical film in 1999, South Park: Bigger, longer, and uncut. The couple are also behind the 2004 film Team America: Global Police He co-wrote the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Book of Mormon.
Lamar is a music superstar whose accolades include a Pulitzer Prize for Music, an Emmy Award and 17 Grammy Awards.
