Jonathan Nolan wants to direct stunt sequences in India: “Bollywood action is the best” Exclusive
Jonathan Nolan pays attention to Bollywood, and what! The filmmaker, whose new series Fallout is set to release on Amazon Prime Video this week, sat down for an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha and talked about Bollywood. The filmmaker confessed that he dreams of starring in a Mumbai-set Bollywood film and directing action scenes one day. The filmmaker also praised the action scenes shown in Indian films.
“I want to (direct) an action movie in a Bollywood movie,” Jonathan said. When Fallout actress Ella Purnell teased that she wanted to star in a Bollywood movie, Jonathan joked, “I can dance, I can sing…” before adding: “I can dance, I can sing…” “For me, the action in Bollywood movies is the best action in the world and that’s what I like the most, so the opportunity to sit on the set here in Mumbai and watch the actual action (scenes) being shot It’s like a dream to get this.”
Although Jonathan is impressed by the Indian film industry, he confessed that he hasn’t had time to catch up on Indian cinema in recent months. “The last movie was ‘RRR’ and of course…that really broke out in North America as well. It’s an extraordinary movie,” Jonathan added.

Meanwhile, Jonathan’s Fallout is scheduled to be released on Amazon Prime Video on April 11th. Jonathan previously revealed that when Fallout 3 was released, he was so hooked on the game that it affected his work. When asked if he always intended to adapt the game, Jonathan joked that this was his “payback”. Then he got serious and said he had met the video game creator a few years ago and they both wanted to work together. Eventually, everything fell into place.
“From the beginning, we knew we would create a series in the Fallout universe while respecting and tying into the lore of all the games. But what I thought was so exciting about Fallout as an adaptation was One of the things was that even though each set of characters had a different setting, they were all connected and there was a larger mythology. “It was a great opportunity. It’s a beautiful world, but it tells an original story,” he explained.
