‘I was confident’: Nayantara reveals why she chose Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan for her Bollywood debut
Nayantara’s spectacular debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan was loved by fans and critics alike. The actress also won praise for her portrayal of a senior police officer in her film. In her recent interaction with a media portal, the actress revealed her reasons for choosing Jawan for her Bollywood debut. She also praised Shah Rukh Khan and she said that he respects women a lot.
In a conversation with Hello Magazine, Nayantara was asked why she chose to star Shah Rukh Khan in her debut film in Bollywood. To this, the actress said, “I was looking for a film like Jawan, which is a commercial venture with big stars. At the same time, I was also keen on meaty roles that would kick some ass.”
Nayantara added that Shah Rukh Khan was the main reason for her to play the jawan, saying, “Who isn’t a fan of his?” We all grew up watching his movies and we all love them. I really respect the fact that apart from him being a big star, he has so much respect for women.” She added: You know when a movie works and vice versa. ”
Jawan, which was headlined by Shah Rukh Khan, was directed by Atlee. Apart from Shah Rukh and Nayanthara, the film also starred Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Deepika Padukone, Sunil Grover and others in key roles. A huge success at the box office, this action-thriller collected Rs 1,160 crore at the box office and was hailed as one of his highest-grossing films in the history of Indian cinema.

Producer Sashikanth will be making his directorial debut with the film, which is scheduled to hit theaters later this year.
