Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut dominate the list of biggest BO openers for female lead movies – Republic World

Heist comedy “Crew” starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon has grossed Rs 20.07 billion worldwide at the box office on its first day, the makers announced on Saturday. The film, directed by Rajesh A. Krishnan, was released in theaters across the country on Friday. It is produced by Anil Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor.

According to the producers, the film had the “world’s best opening record for a film starring three women.” The net collection of this film in India is more than her Rs 10.28 billion. As Crews breaks box office records, here are the biggest box office records for a female-starring film.

Kareena Kapoor fails to break her own box office record

Speaking of Indian films with female leads, Kareena’s Veere Di Wedding (2018) recorded the highest opening day box office revenue. 10.42 billion rupees were minted. Crew follows next with his Rs 1,028 crore. The biggest opening list for female lead films is dominated by Kareena and Alia Bhatt, both of whom have two and three films respectively.

Kangana Ranaut and Sunny Leone also have two films each in the list.

Team Crew thanks viewers for the overwhelming response

In a post on Instagram, producer Ekta R. Kapoor wrote, “Thank you India!!!!! Our director and daughters showed the world what they are capable of doing!!! A global Dhamaka! Mama)” she wrote.

Tabu and Kriti also praised the first day of Crew’s collection, calling it “historic”. “We are overwhelmed with love for Crew! The biggest female-led opening in the history of Hindi cinema around the world! Crew is in theaters now,” they posted on their respective Instagram pages .

Kareena said she is happy to continue her association with Rhea Kapoor and Ekta R. Kapoor with Crew. She had previously worked with the two producers on the 2018 film Veere De Wedding.

The crew features Kareena, Tabu and Kriti as three stewardesses. With the airline Kohinoor on the verge of bankruptcy, their future seems uncertain, but they discover the corpse of a passenger who smuggled gold biscuits. This heist comedy also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in important roles.
