Randeep Hooda’s latest film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ is facing the challenge of attracting audiences to theaters contrary to initial expectations. The film, which is based on the life of Indian freedom fighter and politician VD Savalkar, saw a slight increase in box office sales during its opening weekend, with a slight increase during the Holi festival. However, the film suffered a box office decline on Tuesday and struggled to maintain its box office momentum.

Swatantriya Veer Savarkar is expected to gross around Rs 1,100 crore on its fifth day of release, with an occupancy rate of 15.38 per cent in Hindi cinemas, Saknilk said. Although this result is slightly above the first-day box office gross of Rs 1.05 billion, the film’s overall reception remains lukewarm.


To boost ticket sales, the film’s producers recently introduced a “buy one get one” offer on tickets, with the aim of attracting more viewers and increasing box office revenue. However, this proposal appears to have been less effective than expected in attracting audiences to theaters.
