“A Mad Max Saga” to world premiere at Cannes 2024
Mad Max returns to the Croisette.
Nine years after George Miller Mad Max: Fury Road He tore through Cannes as the 2015 diesel-fueled opener, the director’s follow-up, Furiosa: The Mad Max Sagawill also have its world premiere out of competition in Cannes.
Anya Taylor-Joy plays Furiosa, the character played by Charlize Theron in the film Road of anger. The prequel revolves around the young woman Furiosa after she is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a large horde of bikers led by the warlord Dementus, who goes to war with… Road of anger Tyrant Immortan Joe. During the battle for dominance, Furiosa must survive and gather the means to find her way home. Co-starring Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke.

Warner Bros. is releasing Furiosa In France on May 22. The US release date is set for May 24.
Barbie Helmer Greta Gerwig will be president of the 2024 Cannes jury, heading the group that selects this year’s Palme d’Or. Canadian author Xavier Dolan (the mom, It’s just the end of the world) a regular participant at the Cannes Film Festival, will return to chair the Un Concern Regard jury
Cannes will reveal the full 2024 lineup at a press conference in Paris next month.
The 77th Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 14 to 25.
