Director Shoojit Sircar has shared secrets about his next film starring Abhishek Bachchan and said he will reveal the details when the time is right.
After months of speculation and buzz about Abhishek Bachchan appearing in director Shoojit Sircar’s next film, the filmmaker has finally confirmed that the actor will be appearing in a slice of life film. Ta. Although he declined to share any other information about the film, he said the film will be about an ordinary man and his extraordinary life.
In a conversation with Galatta Plus, the director of Vicky Donor mentioned a secret about directing his next film, saying, “There’s no secret per se, but we’ve been shooting for a long time, so it’s the last time we shot…” Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, which was in 2019, the idea was to shoot the movie and announce it when the time was ripe. When further prompted to reveal details about the film, including the rest of the cast and the storyline, he said, There are other characters, but it’s primarily an Abhishek Bachchan movie. The problem is that the moment you announce a movie, people ask, “Acha story kya hai batao (Tell me the story).” Who would watch the movie if I told them that? ” The director said that the majority of the film has already been shot. “Almost done!” he said.
Director Shoojit Sircar, who has directed films like ‘Piku’, ‘Yahan’, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ and ‘Madras Cafe’, says the untitled film is inspired by the life of a friend. That’s what he says. “I am influenced by ordinary and simple everyday life and people. I observe them and pick up notes and moments to make films,” he said without revealing much. He added, “All my films are drawn from my own life and the people who appear in it. October is inspired by a phase that my mother and I witnessed.”
In an interview with The Quint newspaper, Sarkar had previously said, “My stories are always related to life and contain humor. I always try to experiment with different genres, keeping the journey of life as the main theme.” I am collaborating with Abhishek Bachchan in my next film. I will take you through the journey of an ordinary, ordinary man.”
