Renowned filmmaker Vikas Bahl, along with Good Company partner Viraj Sawant and Talisman Films founders Abhishek Kumar and Nishikant Roy, will be working on the historic Battle of Nowshera and He has announced plans for an upcoming film venture centered around the recapture of Jangarh in Jammu and Kashmir. India-Pakistan operations of 1947-1948. On hearing about the production of this period drama, Indian Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and the Indian Army extended full support to the makers of the film.

This ambitious project will highlight the indomitable courage and leadership embodied by Mahavir Chakra Brigadier Mohammad Usman, revered as the ‘Lion of Nowshera’, and Param Vir Chakra awardee Naik Jadunath. – Highlighting the brave deeds of other soldiers such as Shin and a group of brave children. Known as Bal Sainik, his unwavering dedication and sacrifice protected and reclaimed every inch of Indian territory after Pakistani raiders invaded Jammu and Kashmir.

Shri Rajnath Singh, Defense Minister, expressed full support to the project and recalled his pivotal role in defending the country during the tumultuous period of 1947-1948. He praised courage and sacrifice. Recently, Vikas Bahl and his team visited Shri Rajnath Singh, a renowned national security journalist and author of more than a dozen books on military history, war and insurgency, at his official residence in Delhi. I was accompanied by the author, Mr. Nitin A. Gokhale. Nitin Gokhale has agreed to be a part of the project as a consultant and will work closely with director Vikas Bahl and screenwriters.

Shri Rajnath Singh appreciated the contribution of the ‘Lion of Nowshera’ and said, ‘Brigadier Mohammad Usman’s courage, patriotism and immense contribution to the motherland should be commended.
