In one of the show’s funniest moments, McCarthy and Eilish took to the stage to present the award for Actress in a Comedy Series, and the movie star took the opportunity to have a fangirl moment. McCarthy reminded Eilish that they had met before, several times in fact, though Eilish didn’t seem to remember. “We’ve actually met before, but it’s okay, it doesn’t matter. Lily Gladstone continues to make history
Lily Gladstone made history by winning Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday. She won for her role as Molly Burkhart Moonflower Killers, directed by Martin Scorsese, making her the first Indigenous actress to win the category. Her character was an Osage woman married to a key accomplice in the systematic assassination of the Osage people in the 1920s. After Gladstone received the honor from Jessica Chastain, she took to the stage to say how “proud” she was of her fellow actors who had come “here in solidarity with all our other unions” in the wake of last year’s Hollywood strikes. Barbra Streisand moves the audience to tears with her moving speech
When she was a teenager, Barbra Streisand dreamed of becoming an actress while sitting on her bed in Brooklyn with a pint of coffee ice cream and a movie magazine. During those days, after school, she would take a break at the Astor Theater in New York, which showed international black-and-white films.
