‘Bandra shines bright in Bollywood’: Metro line 2B to host cinema theme park | Mumbai News
MUMBAI: Get ready to experience the magic of Bollywood on the outskirts of Bandra in Mumbai! A new project showcasing the rich history of Indian cinema is coming up under the Metro Line 2B flyover between ESIC Nagar and Bandra.
This section consists of 7 stations and 355 pillars. This special space will feature sculptures and designs inspired by famous Bollywood movies and stars, all illuminated with colorful LED lights and digital effects.
Bandra is already a popular tourist destination and this Bollywood theme park will add to its appeal. This fun place to learn about Mumbai’s filmmaking history is expected to become a must-see for locals and tourists alike.
Bandra is home to some of the biggest names in Bollywood, including actors, artists, writers, singers, and filmmakers, which attracts a large number of tourists to the Pali Hills and Carter Road areas of Bandra.
The project, which will cost around Rs 250 million, will be divided into two parts: the early days of Bollywood from 1913 to 1939 and the golden age from 1952 to 2023.
MLA Ashish Shelar, who spearheaded the move, said, “This unique concept will not only enhance the beauty of the area and reaffirm Bandra as the queen of Mumbai suburbs, but also become a tourist attraction. Probably.”
MMRDA appointed a team of experts with rich history and best consultants to develop a comprehensive master plan.
Shelal expressed confidence that this is a landmark symbol and a point of pride for Mumbai and Mumbaikars.
Work on some of the bays on this project will begin in the second week of March, with remaining work continuing concurrently with the metro infrastructure.
There are also plans to close sections of the road to vehicular traffic on Sunday mornings for a ‘Happy Streets’ event where you can enjoy Bollywood-themed activities and soak up the vibrant atmosphere.
