Yash Raj Films, India’s premier film production company, has been awarded the esteemed Swiss Excellence Award. The prestigious occasion was moderated by Mr. Martin Meyer, Consul General of Switzerland in Mumbai, and Mr. Christophe-Xavier Krivas, Founder and Director of Swiss Learning.

The Swiss Excellence Award was presented to Yash Raj Films in recognition of the company’s long-standing creative relationship with Switzerland and its promotion of Swiss excellence. The award was received by Akshaye Widani, CEO of Yash Raj Films.

Akshaye said in a respected gathering: “I am deeply honored and grateful to this prestigious Swiss government for awarding the Swiss Award of Excellence to YRF.Yash Chopra is a legendary filmmaker whose creativity transcends borders. He was a visionary and became synonymous with Switzerland through his lifetime of cinematic masterpieces.

YRF has shot around 14 films in Switzerland. DDLJ, Dhoom 3, Veer Zara, Dil To Pagal Hai, Chandni, Darr (to name a few).

Akshay added, “These films not only captivated audiences around the world, but also helped foster the deep bond between India and Switzerland.” I am happy to be able to become Switzerland’s postcard to its people. I am sure that this partnership will grow stronger every year and foster a legacy of cultural exchange for generations to come.”
